1.1.1 - Call waiting beep bug fix

Hey all 👋,

We got some feedback that clients could hear the call waiting beep because we were playing it through your ringtone device, not your speaker device. We apologize for the oversight. In this update you will now hear the call waiting beep through your headset, or whatever you have set as your speaker device, so clients should no longer hear it.

We also had reports of hearing the incoming call sound but not seeing a notification to accept the call. We deployed a fix for this as well. Thanks for the feedback and helping us improve!

1.1.0 - The one with Transfer Requests

This new release is packed full of features! The two biggest ones are the introduction of 3-way calling and transfer requests.

3-way Calling

When on a call, you can now select the "Add" button and dial someone else in. This will put your existing call on hold. After they answer, you can hit "Merge Call" and it will join the two calls together. You can also add someone in from another ongoing call into your current call:

Transfer Requests

Transfer requests are the new way operators or assistants can screen and transfer calls to you. When you receive a transfer request, you will now see a notification and hear a chime sound. By responding to the message, the operator will receive your message and take action accordingly. This allows you to be on the phone and manage incoming calls with the help of our wonderful operators. Note that you have 30 seconds to respond to a transfer request before it times out.

Call Waiting Beep

A long requested feature, thank you for your patience 🙏, you will now hear a call waiting beep when you receive an incoming call while you are already on a call.

Mark Voicemails Unread

Did you ever accidentally listen to a voicemail and now it is marked as read? Now you can mark it as unread by selecting the more options dropdown.

Toast Notifications

As you sharp readers might already have noticed, this new release includes toast notifications. These are small messages that display in the bottom-right corner of the app and give you more information and context.

Along with this release there a number of bug fixes and style improvements that would be too long to list here. We hope you enjoy this update.

We noticed that contacts with longer names were creating a weird UI. We fixed this so that they now cut off with an ellipsis, but still show you the whole name when you hover over the value with your mouse.

1.0.27 Release - Call Quality Indicators!

Hello 👋,

To help track when a call is having issues we now display a Call Quality indicator in the top right corner of active calls. This call quality indicator is based on Mean Opinion Score which is the defacto standard for measuring quality in telecommunications. Note: this indicator is a measure of the quality between both parties. This means that if either party is experiencing poor network conditions, the call quality indicator will be affected.

We also added a new tool to help you report call quality issues to us. After a call ends, if you experienced call quality issues, click the "Report Call Quality Issues" button to flag that call so we can help track down what is happening.

Email Voicemails

Just like the before, we now send email updated to you when you receive a voicemail. If you would like, you can turn off this feature in the "Call Handling & Voicemail" tab in your settings.

Sorting Contacts

We noticed that many people were adding the company name to the name of their contacts so that they could find by company name. We went ahead and added an option to sort by Company Name or Last Name to make it easier for you!

Make sure you use the company field on the contact page so you can sort by company!

Call & Message Information Updates, and more

Improvement

Hello 👋,

There was a lot of behind the scenes work in this release as we prepare for our desktop app launch. However, we made a couple of updates that will help you out and so we wanted to get them to you now.

Improvement

  • Call logs now show when calls did not complete due to the line being busy, the number being unreachable as dialed, or the other party not picking up after a timeout, so the line won't endlessly ring.
  • Messages now show dividers to give you more information about times text were sent

Fix

  • The call dialer now will close if a call fails to complete
  • Busy and Failed calls are now properly handled

Reworks, Features and Fixes

New

Hello 👋,

We have made a number of improvements and fixes over the past two weeks as well as added polish to Kimmel Nexus.

New

  • Audio player now has a scrubber to jump to any part of a recording or voicemail.
  • Call history items now expand down an audio player for voicemails and recordings when the Voicemail or Recording button is clicked clicked.
  • Directory page is now available which shows the status and availability of employees.
  • Message templates can now be inserted into your text messages by clicking the template icon and selecting a message template.
  • Message templates can now be managed through the Settings page.

Improvement

  • Messages page has been overhauled to mesh better with the UI.
  • Contacts page has been reworked to match the UI of similar pages.
  • Sending message input and new message inputs have been updated to improve visibility.
  • Clicking the phone number of a Call History Item while on the Contact Detail page will open the Dialer with that contacts phone number.
  • Voicemail color has been changed from red to indigo after receiving feedback that it looked like something was wrong.

Fix

  • Audio player listed duration sometimes was incorrect or showed "NaN:NaN"
  • Calling capability would sometimes be revoked after leaving tab open for a long time
  • New message push notification would sometimes fire multiple times for the same message
  • Voice Settings (the headset icon) would sometimes crash if your preferred device was disconnected
  • Changing availability to take calls for a Ring Group was not updating other people's UI with your updated ring group availability
  • Sidebar highlighted page would drop off when viewing a specific conversation or a contact's details
